The way things are supposed to be...
I have found that puzzles that I author are sometimes edited by the managers of the griddlers.net site before they are published. I understand that this is often needed for different reasons. Unfortunately, in the process often final images do not appear as intended.
Unless someone points out an issue in the comm ents or we take the time to solve it ourselves, authors don't know what the published puzzle looks like. If someone leaves a comment, then authors can see a smal l portion of the puzzle located near the comments.
Here is an example of this phenomenon:
Puzzle 148188: Huck Finn ( a 2 section MultiGriddler worth a total of 42,815 points)
When I submitted the puzzle it look like the picture below. To retain the detail I wanted and to make the puzzle solvable, I made it 12 sections worth a total of 26,954 points.
thumbnail clearly shows a very square face. See the image below.
I really enjoy the comments that solver leave on my puzzles. I learn from the constructive criticism and I am inspired by the positive feedback I receive. My favorite is when I have to use Google Translate to find out what some of the international solvers are leaving as comments. I hope to continue to document my journey as a puzzle author and share what I have learned in the process.
Thanks,
Kendra
